Montreux is a city in the Canton of Vaud in Switzerland and has been part of the Riviera-Pays-d'Enhaut district since 1 January 2008. For 2008 the municipality was part of the former district Vevey.
It is located on Lake Geneva and has 25,440 inhabitants.
