5-five-5: Gauteng

Gauteng is one of the nine provinces into which South Africa has been divided since the end of apartheid and has a population of over 12.2 million.

Although Gauteng only makes up 1.5% of South Africa's territory, it is by far the most important province economically.

It includes the urban area of Johannesburg.
