Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, also called Las Palmas, is the capital of the Spanish province of Las Palmas and the island of Gran Canaria. Together with Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the capital of the neighboring island of Tenerife, it forms the capital of the autonomous region of Canary Islands.
