The yellow skunk (Lysichiton americanus)

The Lysichiton americanus owes its nickname "yellow skunk" to the scent that the plant spreads.
This odor is often confused with that of a skunk.
Lysichiton americanus grows in swamps and in other places, as long as it is well moist.

The scent of this special plant species will probably scare you, but you should certainly not be seduced by its beautiful yellow color.
Although the native people of America were known for eating this plant, you can't just put it in your mouth.
There are certain parts of the plant that are very toxic and can even cause burns in your mouth and throat.
