Santa Catalina Monastery (Arequipa - Peru)

In one of the streets in the center of Arequipa lies the Santa Catalina monastery.
On October 2, 1580 was founded the monastery.
The purpose of the monastery was to protect the daughters of the leading families by providing them housing here.
The monastery was completely closed to the outside world and that lasted until August 15, 1970.
Now you can visit this beautiful complex of approximately 20,000 m2.
It is built in the same way as the first districts in Arequipa.

The five most beautiful wallpapers and pictures of the Santa Catalina monastery in Peru.
