Delos (Greece)

According to Greek mythology, Apollo was born on this tiny island in the Cyclades archipelago. 
Apollo's sanctuary attracted pilgrims from all over Greece and Delos was a prosperous trading port. 
The island bears traces of the succeeding civilizations in the Aegean world, from the 3rd millennium B.C. to the palaeochristian era. 
The archaeological site is exceptionally extensive and rich and conveys the image of a great cosmopolitan Mediterranean port.

Waterton Glacier International Peace Park (Canada)

In 1932 Waterton Lakes National Park (Alberta, Canada) was combined with the Glacier National Park (Montana, United States) to form the world's first International Peace Park.

Pantanal Conservation Area (Brazil)

The Pantanal Conservation Complex consists of a cluster of four protected areas with a total area of 187,818 ha. 
Located in western central Brazil at the south-west corner of the State of Mato Grosso, the site represents 1.3% of Brazil's Pantanal region, one of the world's largest freshwater wetland ecosystems. 
The headwaters of the region's two major river systems, the Cuiabá and the Paraguay rivers, are located here, and the abundance and diversity of its vegetation and animal life are spectacular.

Macquarie Island (Australia)

Macquarie Island (34 km long x 5 km wide) is an oceanic island in the Southern Ocean, lying 1,500 km south-east of Tasmania and approximately halfway between Australia and the Antarctic continent. 
The island is the exposed crest of the undersea Macquarie Ridge, raised to its present position where the Indo-Australian tectonic plate meets the Pacific plate. 
It is a site of major geoconservation significance, being the only place on earth where rocks from the earth’s mantle (6 km below the ocean floor) are being actively exposed above sea-level. 
These unique exposures include excellent examples of pillow basalts and other extrusive rocks.
